Thank you for your interest in The Learning Center for the Deaf community-based American Sign Language classes!
Our 2026 Winter II Session will run from March 2, 2026 to April 9, 2026. Each six-week course is $210, unless otherwise stated.
Which Course is Right For Me? Class Descriptions:
- Level 1: Basic ASL vocabulary, fingerspelling, and ASL grammar to construct simple sentences
- Level 2: More sign language gestures, fingerspelling, ASL grammar, and vocabulary to express complex ideas and sentences
- Level 3: intensive vocabulary building, ASL sentence construction, and telling short stories for conversations in ASL
- Level 4: Further developing vocabulary and building confidence in signing sentences and conversing in ASL
- Level 5: Descriptive phrases, employment, giving directions, chores/household conversations, money
- Conversational: Strengthen your conversational fluency using board games, debates, storytelling, and fun activities in a more informal class setting. Level 4 is required before taking the Conversational class.
- ASL Fingerspelling and Numbers: This is a four-week course for $150 to help build speed and accuracy with fingerspelling and numbers. You will practice everyday contexts such as phone numbers, names, money, dates, and addresses. Completion of ASL Level 2 is required.
- Unlimited 'Extra' sessions before class: This opportunity allows you to receive an extra 30 minutes of instruction with your instructor; valid for in-person classes only. There is a one-time fee of $30 that offers unlimited sessions for the entire semester.
Refund Policy:
TLC will honor a 50% refund per participant for cancellations made at least one week prior to class start date. No refund will be issued for cancellation within one week of class start date.
After registering, you will receive an email from your ASL instructor a few days before the first class!
